No. Works for Us is an observational and educational platform. We display user-reported experiences and link to peer-reviewed research. We do not give medical advice, diagnose conditions, or recommend treatments. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting, stopping, or changing any medication, supplement, or treatment.

Every outcome on Works for Us is self-reported by a real user. They tell us what compound they take, what condition they take it for, how effective it is for them (1-5 scale), and any side effects. We also link to PubMed peer-reviewed studies and TrialConnect for active clinical trials. We do not fabricate data or make claims.

User-reported data is observational, not clinical. It tells you what real people experience in real life — outside of controlled trials. That is both its strength (real-world, diverse populations) and its limitation (no controls, no blinding, placebo effects, reporting bias). We recommend using it as one data point alongside clinical evidence from PubMed and guidance from your healthcare provider.

Health data is classified as special category data under UK GDPR (Article 9). We use row-level security in our database, pseudonymous display names by default, aggregation thresholds (we never show outcomes for a compound × condition pair with fewer than 3 data points), and no third-party trackers on health data pages. You can export or delete all your data at any time.

We do not display aggregated data for any combination with fewer than 3 reports. This prevents re-identification and avoids drawing conclusions from too small a sample. As our community grows, more combinations will cross the threshold.

No. We do not accept payment from supplement companies to rank, feature, or promote their products. Our rankings are generated entirely from user-reported data. We may licence aggregated, de-identified data to commercial partners in the future, but this does not influence what individual users see.

You can track prescription medications alongside supplements. However, many supplements interact with prescription drugs. Always check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining supplements with any medication. The data on this site is not a substitute for professional drug interaction checking.

Every outcome has a 'report' function. Our moderation team reviews all reports within 48 hours. We remove outcomes that are fabricated, promotional, or violate our content policy. Repeat offenders are banned.

TrialConnect is a separate platform for finding clinical trials. We link to TrialConnect so you can see if there are active clinical trials for your condition. This does not mean the trials are for supplements — most clinical trials are for prescription medications and novel therapies.

Yes, the platform is accessible globally. However, our regulatory framework is built around UK GDPR and MHRA guidelines. Users outside the UK should be aware that supplement regulations differ by country — what is legal in the UK may be restricted or prescription-only elsewhere.
